Every man has a dark side as it becomes more apparent with age. Something goes awry with Charlie Ahearn in the year 1956 and the decades that follow. Every step Charlie takes yields only a new form of suffering. The author's second book in The Dark Tower seriesThe Gunslinger, appeared in 1982 after he released a teleplay in November of 1981. The story combines the adventurous vision of Robert Silverberg with King's own diverse and intricate prose. The novel was first published in book form in 2002, and this edition of the first volume is included in Stephen King's collection, Dreamcatcher. The Dark Toweris part of King's fictional sequence of eight novels which span multiple genres and includes some of his most creative writing. It will be published by Scribner in August 2016. 

Stephen King gives out small amounts of advice to his readers through his online newsletter Stephen King Press , and he likes to remind people of what not to do in life. For example, never go out drinking before driving. If you do go out drinking, you should drive home. If you do drive home, make sure you're sober. And don't fool around with a love affair. You'll get heartburn and a lump in your throat.
