this will upgrade the arduino ide for you and you should then be able to go to the file menu item and select open. you will then open a new window called arduino ide and you should see a new file pop up. double click on this file and you will now have the arduino software.

then you should see a window pop up that says insert board, and in the box to the right of that you should see something like microchip technology inc. (www.microchip.com). click on the box and you will be taken to a website that has the software downloads and the docs for this device and then you can download the arduino libraries if you need them.

hi all, here is my first attempt at getting this working. i am running the latest arduino ide 1.6.12 and have installed the following (not in the order listed):  cocoa (a macosx framework) cocoa-esp32-frameworks (a linux framework) cocoa-esp32-sdk-v0.2 (a linux framework) 

when i run the espressif-get-update.sh file it uploads all three of the frameworks and when i run the example it compiles and uploads the code. however, when i run the example it just goes to a new line and the arduino ide doesnt do anything else. i have been trying to get this to work for a couple of weeks now and am at a loss. i have tried running the example as a troubleshooting step and it gets to the esp32->hello world loop and gets to run for about a minute and then stops.
