The present invention relates to a copying apparatus, a method for correcting image displacement, and a storage medium.
2. Related Art
In the past, a method has been known in which, while a manuscript on which an original is placed is placed on a manuscript placing plate, images of the original manuscript and an image of a manuscript placed on the manuscript placing plate (hereinafter, an image of the image placed on the manuscript placing plate will be referred to as “synthesized image”), which has been formed by synthesizing the original manuscript and the image placed on the manuscript placing plate, is compared with each other, and the original manuscript is displaced by displacing the original manuscript in accordance with displacement quantity (an amount of displacement), which is obtained by calculating the difference between the synthesized images (see JP-A-2006-157469, for example).
Meanwhile, in recent years, copying apparatuses have been proposed, which allow a user to select desired one of two image processing operations, i.e., an image formation or an image forming processing to be executed, by a simple operation. For example, with the copying apparatus described in JP-A-2006-157469, when the image placed on the manuscript placing plate is not necessary to be an image for comparison in displacing the original manuscript, the original manuscript is formed with a reduced size in comparison with the size of the manuscript placed on the manuscript placing plate, to reduce the size of the manuscript placed on the manuscript placing plate and to increase a remaining area on which the original manuscript is placed. In the case where the image placed on the manuscript placing plate is not necessary to be an image for comparison in displacing the original manuscript, not only the size of the original manuscript is reduced to be the same as the size of the image placed on the manuscript placing plate, but also the original manuscript is positioned at a position that is not particularly considered when the original manuscript is placed on the manuscript placing plate, to ease a user's operation.
However, in the case where the reduced size of the original manuscript is made, a gap between the original manuscript and the manuscript placing plate is increased, which may cause a so-called lower quality image.
