when allie is finishing her treatments, lee wants to celebrate. he wants to take her out to fine food and show her a good movie. allie brings up a small tab of anti-inflammatory medicine to take. lee feels bad. she is more depressed than he cares to admit. they have a terrible fight about her pills. finally, she goes to sleep. this is a scene that happens over and over in allie s life. there are too many couples fighting over pills. another episode is when allie goes out for a night on the town with a girlfriend. a bar fight begins. allie gets knocked down, her chest scrapes across the stones, but she doesn t break.
